According to its 2025 Wealth report, the ultrarich prioritize wellness\/health experiences (24%) over international travel (19%) or cultural events (13%), or even family experiences (8%).<\/p>\n<p>In terms of what luxury assets these multimillionaires most want to own, forget about Rolex watches or diamond jewelry. Almost 30% said they prefer luxury real estate\u2014far above a private jet (15%) or a super yacht (9%).<\/p>\n<p>So it makes sense that the affluent would combine their love of wellness and real estate into properties that boast a plethora of health-boosting features.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">This nine-bedroom $48 million house on Palm Island, FL, seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living areas. <span class=\"image-credit\">(Realtor.com)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to global real estate investment expo Rise, the global wellness real estate market is on track to quadruple to&nbsp;$2 trillion by 2034.<\/p>\n<p>Forty-five percent of elite homebuyers insist on wellness features, especially &#8220;silent luxuries&#8221; such as pollutant filters, rooms bathed in natural light cycles, and meditation pods.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Think private saltwater pools, biometric-controlled sanctuaries, and gardens that double as organic farms,&#8221; says the report. &#8220;Investors are chasing a different kind of ROI\u2014one measured in air quality, circadian rhythms, and emotional equilibrium. &#8230; They&#8217;re investing in a lifestyle where every brick, beam, and breeze is calibrated to their well-being.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Developers are no longer selling properties\u2014they\u2019re engineering ecosystems.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bringing-longevity-into-the-home\">Bringing longevity into the home<\/h2>\n<p>The UHNWI who may have once wanted a wet bar, cigar room, billiards table, or disco in their home now prioritize health over Playboy Mansion-style debauchery.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s hottest wellness feature is the cold plunge pool, popularized by health-conscious celebrities like supermodel <strong>Elle MacPherson<\/strong> and Goop founder <strong>Gwyneth Paltrow.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You&#8217;d be surprised how many people are putting these in their homes,&#8221; says Alatriste. &#8220;I saw <strong>Elle MacPherson<\/strong>&#8216;s home last year. She took her cold plunge pool with her when she moved.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/na.rdcpix.com\/e99220bbcad46bc3988634b816d0ebc0w-c3123619602srd_q80.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1080199\" title=\"\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Virtually every room at 30 Palm Ave. has an &#8220;indoor-outdoor flow.&#8221; <span class=\"image-credit\">(Realtor.com)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Indeed, the supermodel&#8217;s wellness site often extols the virtues of the cold plunge. In the morning, after drinking filtered water and lime, and putting her &#8220;feet on the earth,&#8221; she then dunks into a cold bath.<\/p>\n<p>Other in-demand wellness features include infrared saunas, pickleball courts, and air and water filtration systems.<\/p>\n<p>Especially hot is the &#8220;biophilic design,&#8221; wherein nature is incorporated into the home&#8217;s aesthetic, often with floor-to-ceiling glass walls overlooking wild greenery, an infinity edge pool, or waterfront. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People want that endless flow of indoor-and-outdoor living,&#8221; says Alatriste.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/na.rdcpix.com\/44ae86abc1864ee4b17d426a18283245w-c3184852997srd_q80.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1080196\" title=\"\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">&#8220;Biophilic design&#8221;\u2014which makes you feel like you&#8217;re living outdoors\u2014is popular with today&#8217;s affluent homeowner. <span class=\"image-credit\">(Realtor.com)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It&#8217;s this design that 30 Palm Avenue, a nine-bedroom $48 million house on Miami&#8217;s Palm Island, has in abundance. Virtually every room overlooks a sprawling garden, the in-ground pool, or Biscayne Bay.<\/p>\n<p>Even the office appears to be a seamless part of the outdoor living areas, with close-up views of greenery, the pool, and water. It&#8217;s a perfect way to gain some relaxation while conducting business meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Alatriste says the hyperfocus on wellness began with the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/na.rdcpix.com\/32ad8b49637800fedccb36ec9c4e8e02w-c568251702srd_q80.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1080225\" title=\"\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">This $24 million nine-bedroom house in Coconut Grove in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brickellsold.com\/blog\/miami-poised-for-potential-influx-of-wealth-as-high-net-worth-new-yorkers-evaluate-relocation-optionsmiamis-luxury-real-estate-sector-is-closely-observing-developments-in-new-york-city-parti\/\">Miami<\/a> has a spectacular indoor-outdoor design. <span class=\"image-credit\">(Realtor.com)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/na.rdcpix.com\/16ad3e8703fa3180a4c48ce9fe8bb074w-c1198131503srd_q80.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1080224\" title=\"\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The gym has an adjacent spa with steam shower and cold plunge. <span class=\"image-credit\">(Realtor.com)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;People didn&#8217;t want to leave their homes,&#8221; she explains. &#8220;They wanted everything at their fingertips\u2014the gym, the pickleball courts, the saunas, the beauty salons.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But just because the pandemic is over doesn&#8217;t mean people want to venture outside again.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now they want to avoid traffic,&#8221; she says. &#8220;It&#8217;s out of control here.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/na.rdcpix.com\/7f405c234cbac0f65a56f7c69efd08bdw-c2586460478srd_q80.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1080197\" title=\"\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The focus on wellness features in the home started with the pandemic, experts say. <span class=\"image-credit\">(Realtor.com)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Designer <strong>Mark Tremblay<\/strong>, president of Marc-Michaels Interior Design, who specializes in servicing UHNWI in South Florida and beyond, echoes the wealthy homeowner&#8217;s obsession with living a long and sprightly life.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My clients have always wanted some kind of gym component,&#8221; he says. &#8220;But that has turned into a gym with beauty, wellness, and spa components.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Typical in-demand features include infrared saunas and steam rooms, private mani-pedi stations, hair salons, and massage rooms.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s kind of a sidebar from COVID,&#8221; Tremblay says. &#8220;They got used to having these amenities at home. They are all very energetic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Less common but still on the wants list are serenity-inducing features like private Zen gardens.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Centering themselves in the universe, I guess, is their main goal,&#8221; explains Tremblay.<\/p>\n<p>He notes that most of his clients have extremely stressful and busy careers with near perpetual travel, so they want their homes\u2014when they&#8217;re actually in them\u2014to be a relaxing refuge. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Money is usually not an issue,&#8221; he says of clients who think nothing of dropping $50,000 on a gym\/spa.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/na.rdcpix.com\/5e797d1eea6d2def498d0e58dfb1e006w-c1182363995srd_q80.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1080249\" title=\"\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">This $9 million five-bedroom house in Boca Raton, FL, not only has a pool and Jacuzzi but a cold plunge pool (right). <span class=\"image-credit\">(Realtor.com)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/na.rdcpix.com\/1135cea342a361bdcb0ae5f9971f081aw-c1082078952srd_q80.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1080512\" title=\"\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The pool comes with a sauna pod (to the right) in the Boca Raton house. <span class=\"image-credit\">(Realtor.com)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>But not all of the trendy wellness features will stick around for the long haul. Tremblay predicts one is on its way out.<\/p>\n<p>Living walls\u2014or walls covered in plant-life\u2014look beautiful and can be a unique way to bring the outdoors inside.
