The widow of a former pharmaceuticals CEO found a buyer for their Palm Beach house asking $21.5 million after seven months on the market.<\/p>\n

It was one in a surge of luxury contracts signed in Palm Beach County last week. Buyers signed 19 contracts between Oct. 20 and Oct. 26 for luxury properties in Palm Beach County, according to a report from Douglas Elliman\u2019s Eklund-Gomes team. The homes that went pending last week total $126.4 million in asking dollar volume and averaged 134 days on the market.<\/p>\n

The previous week, buyers signed 11 contracts totaling $67.4 million in asking dollar volume.<\/p>\n

The report tracks signed contracts for single-family homes and condos asking $3 million or more in the Beaches MLS. It identified 58 new listings, and a total of 1,110 active listings on the market.<\/p>\n

Of the properties that went pending last week, 15 were single-family homes and four were condos. For condos, the average asking price was $3.9 million, or $1,119 per square foot. They spent an average of 170 days on the market.<\/p>\n

The average asking price for the single-family homes was $7.4 million, or $1,612 per square foot. They spent an average of 99 days on the market.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The most expensive home to go under contract last week was the 5,400-square-foot house at 231 Via Las Brisas in Palm Beach, asking $21.5 million. Records show the seller is Nancy Goodes, the widow of the late pharmaceuticals boss Mel Goodes. Mel Goodes had led Warner-Lambert, the drugmaker that created Lipitor. Pfizer bought the company for $90 billion in 2000, according to published reports. He died last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The couple bought the Via Las Brisas home for $2.9 million in 2014, records show. Built on half an acre in 1999, it has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, one half-bathroom and a pool.<\/p>\n

It hit the market for $21.5 million in March, Zillow shows. Dana and Paulette Koch with the Corcoran Group have the listing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The second most expensive home to find a buyer last week was the 9,200-square-foot mansion at 336 East Key Palm Road in Boca Raton, asking $17.5 million. It is in the gated Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club community, where football star Travis Kelce rented a home this summer. Records show the sellers are Bob and Kristine Edwards, who bought the property for $8.8 million in 2014. Bob Edwards is a pharmaceutical executive and the head of e5 Pharma in Boca Raton.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The mansion was built in 2014 on 0.6 acres, and includes six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, a wine room, club room, pool, dock and 220 feet of waterfront.\u00a0<\/p>\n
